Business Plus was founded in 1987 when Twin Falls business leaders took a proactive approach to bringing in new companies with well-paying jobs. The first such recruitment was that of Boise-based Trus Joist (TJI) with its Norco Window manufacturing plant housed in the old Kellwood pantyhose factory. Business Plus raised $600,000 from private businesses to help Norco purchase the building and bring 85 jobs to Twin Falls. Norco made $3.5M in capital improvements and went on to contribute over $50M in the local economy.
Business Plus went on to recruit Seastrom Manufacturing and Clear Shield National with the creation of over 200 jobs and over $20M in capital outlays. The Magic Valley’s improving economy and business climate stimulated even more local businesses and expansions. Example of past direct investments grants and their impact include:

In 2001 the Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization (SIEDO) was created as a joint venture of Business Plus, the College of Southern Idaho, and regional communities. SIEDO markets the region for the attraction and expansion of businesses and to help diversity and strengthen the economy of Southern Idaho.
Over the years Business Plus investors have contributed over $1,000,000 to SIEDO – money well invested!
Teamwork among the partners is a large part of the region’s success with collaboration between cities and counties, the State of Idaho, the College of Southern Idaho, the Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization and the private sector including investors of Business Plus.
